One of those days

Yep, been one of those. I could use any of the following:

Date with Daniel

Girls night out

A day at the beach

Bunch of money so I could quit my job

A walk with a friend

A do-over

Any of those will do, just one...........

Where to start....

I have sooo much to do, I don't know where to start, but I am loving looking at everyone's blogs (I know, my priorities are a bit mixed up).

Counting the days for our vacation to SoCal.
Dreaming of a week at the beach.

Get to spend time with Daniel.

Get to spend time with my boys.

Wondering if I will want to come home (actually convincing myself that I can come home).

Hoping to see a couple good friends.

Going to see our house for the first time since we left.
Relaxing.

Hearing waves 24-7.

Going on walks on the beach at night.

Watching my boys play in the sand and be covered in sand (love those pictures, don't know why).

Get to see my adorable nieces and hope that they will remember who I am when our time is over.

Hope to see dolphins jumping in the morning through the window again this year.

Planning to stay up super late talking with my SILs and MIL (if she stays awake ;) )

Hope to get a tan.

Wish I had worked out more, but who am I kidding 4 o'clock hits and I am a gonner almost every day. Think skinny.

Want a new camera to get the best pictures of our trip.

Can't wait for the scary rides at Disneyland (hoping Liam or Devan is tall enough to ride with me).

But..... BEFORE any of that, there are several lists that have been created and several things to get done. I am just so excited I can't begin to think of those things just yet. I am sure it will be a last minute frantic packing.

I-Spy Quilt

Tonight I started working on my first ever quilt. I am super excited, nervous and a bit apprehensive knowing that it is hard for me to finish projects (not sure why).

The gist of it is to have a quilt with 200 different blocks on it, each with a pattern or object. No licensed prints. Having never done any type of piece work quilting, this is a very ambitious project, but I realized when cutting my fabric today that I do LOVE having a project to work on.

So here goes to my first quilt....my blocks are in the mail and it will take about 3-4 weeks to see what I get in return.

Ordinary

I love to read blogs and hear how people write. In each blog I can hear the person's personality coming through and love reading even if it is not the craziest or funniest story I have heard in a while. Me on the other hand feel like my life is just so ordinary and run of the mill, that I feel there aren't many interesting things to write, so my blog gets neglected....

But I have decided that ordinary is perfect for me. And my ordinary is not necessarily someone else's ordinary. I'm turning a new leaf and making a goal to post at least once a week. I am sure there is something in a week's time that is worth writing about or some things that I should document for my own purposes because someday I would like to have my blog printed because I am a horrible journal writer.

Now to think of something interesting to write about.....

Last day being 3

Tomorrow is Lance's birthday and I can hardly believe that he is 4. It makes me really sad in some ways but hopeful in other ways (terrible 3's are over, right?). There is so much about Lance to love that it makes his naughtiness seem not so bad (well, that depends on the day if you know what I mean).

I am in love with his eyes. You don't get the full Lance effect if you looking at his eyes when he is telling you something.

He gives the best kisses - big puckery lips - and has from the time he was tiny.

He is generally very happy.

He has an incredible naughty streak in him that rears its ugly head every now and then. Just to name a few, a whole can of Pam on the kitchen floor (yes I almost broke my neck when I stepped onto the kitchen floor), leaving the hose on in the backyard and flooding his bedroom, ruining countless items of my make-up applying them in places that really don't use make-up and places that after my make-up has touched will never touch my face again.

He LOVES to drink - any type of flavored drink.

I love his obsession with his "Super Boy" jammies. He insists that he wear them as often as possible and that Preston wear his "Super Baby" jammies too so they can be partners in crime.

I love hearing him express the thoughts in his little head. For so long it was a mystery and it is so exciting to hear the way he thinks about things. I love hearing him talk!

I love the way he closes his eyes when he is eating something he finds especially yummy.

I love the way he says "I love you, Mom". So sincere and always followed by a hug and kiss.

There really is only one LANCEY PANCEY and I'm so glad he is MINE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LANCE!

Spelling with Devan

Working with Devan on his spelling words is always very frustrating. He thinks I am just trying to torture him. Tidbit of our session yesterday:

Me: Devan, spell first.

Devan: 1-s-t

It is so hard to get upset at this kid sometimes because he is so funny. Where did he come from? oh yeah, he is definitely Daniel's son.

DYING FOR NEW RECIPES

Last week I tried 2 new recipes. I thought both were delicious (haha, I know some of you HATE that word). :)

Whenever I try new recipes, it makes me want MORE new receipes. The problem, is I find a lot of recipes but have a hard time knowing how to make them healthier. My question to you is -

What substitutes do you use to make something healthier?

What are some of your healthy recipes?

What are your favorite things to grill and how do you grill them?

What are your kids favorites?
